The Architect Show (tAS) will take place in Athens on 7-8 December 2024, bringing together professionals and enthusiasts from the global architecture and design community. Now in its sixth year, the event serves as a key platform for showcasing innovation and exchanging ideas. Alongside the main exhibition, where over 170 brands and designers will showcase the latest building materials, technologies and products in design and architecture, this year’s edition will feature the tAS_talks programme. These unique sessions, organised by designboom and Archdaily, aim to highlight all aspects of contemporary design culture and to foster dialogue between leading architects, designers and industry professionals from Greece and around the world. On 7 December, designboom will host a live session with Anthony Angie Michock, founding partner of Assemble, a UK-based multidisciplinary group working across the fields of architecture, design and art. Known for challenging traditional notions of the architectural profession, the studio emphasizes a community-based approach to design that places the architect as part of an ongoing local dialogue. In 2015, Assemble was the first architecture and design studio to receive the Turner Prize, Britain’s most prestigious art award, for their Granby Four Streets renovation project. Last year, they opened Atelier LUMA, a collaborative project with BC Architects commissioned by the Luma Arles Foundation that showcases a new approach to materials that promotes and highlights innovation in ecological and bioregional design.
